Do you think these people ever actually listen to the music as all they seem to do is write about the bands old image and how they only appeal to middle aged women and such

it's just a review among all the others.
it's not exactly a well written kind of review but that "life" part is true. i bet the middle aged women (in the US) part is true, too. but that doesn't mean it's good, solid and convincing.

hmm, they actually talked about the songwriting abilities/effort alot more than the old image...
