Maybe, but according to Sound Scan, by December 22nd, box set had sold ~77 000 copies. That´s not quite the same as 500 000 copies.

Well... this box was not release here in Brazil and in South America... So, not is a international release... 77,000 copies are a good number, I think...

like every other double/triple or multiple cd, they count for 5...so

and you know is enough to come close to 500.000 to be certificated gold

I think certified gold is what they shipped to retailers = 125 000 box (which is 500 000 discs) .. not that they sold them ....

Exactly. People get confused with these things, but gold and platinum records are given based on the sales to stores, not to customers. RIIA only counts CDs sent to the retailers. SoundScan is the actual _sold_ amount, how many CDs have left the stores.
