they're not breaking up. rob is taking some time off to record a solo album i think. but they'll be back on tour before long

And people said that every time Bon Jovi took a break - I didn't see them splitting up, did you? Sometimes bands do take breaks for the members to be creative alone - sometimes the band members just need to take some time out from each other after living in each other's pockets for the last 15 years. It can make the band stronger and brings a fresh outlook and different experiences when they regroup to write a new band album.

Choc is correct, Rob Thomas is recording a solo album which is planned for release in August, Kyle has a band called The New Left who will be releasing their debut album in 2004, and Paul is planning on finishing the solo album he's been writing since 2000. Not sure what the other guys will be up to during the break - but hey that's all it is!

MB20 will have a new album out before you know it

cheers for the info ceri, basically all i was going to say when i saw the heading was that everything they have done in the last 4 years, it just gets bigger and better so for them to split would certainly be strange, im hoping they'll be going a good few years long...and tour with the counting crows soon dammit!

matchbox 20 toured last autumn. pretty good show they put on too and the counting crows are touring sometime in the next couple of months cos they're playing the academy up here
