Default Myles Kennedy’s new album ‘Year of the Tiger’

Downloaded the Myles’ solo album this morning - what a brilliant songwriter Myles is! The lyrics are amazing, whilst the musical arrangement grabs you immediately.

Apart from the singles, which have been available for quite sometime, The Great Beyond deserves a special mention due to its grandiosity, and Myles’ vocal ability to switch easily between low and high notes.

I would recommend a listen if you have a chance to do so.

I must admit, not a fan of the album. It's very different which in some ways is good but for a debut solo album that I've waited years for, I'm disappointed.

It has some good moments. 'Love Can Only Heal' & 'The Great Beyond' which apparently had been written for a previous solo album that got scrapped. My brother thinks 'The Great Beyond' would be a great Bond song. It reminds me a bit of 'The End Is Here.'

Even though I'm not too keen on the album, I went to watch him at Liverpool O2 Academy. Really really good show. Intimate and was good to see Myles alone on stage for majority of the show.

5/6 solo songs, few Alter Bridge songs, Slash and covers. Really liked the acoustic sound to most of the songs and although his voice has irritated me the last few years, he sounded incredible last night. Effortless infact. Not as nasally, no silly sounds at the end of certain words, just a very strong singing voice.

He was also in a really relaxed funny mood too. The crowd started changing 'It's Coming Home' to which he then started stomping his foot and played guitar to it for a good 30/45 seconds. Had a lot of joking with the crowd. Some good small stories.

Recommend people go and see him do this type of show.

This describes how I feel as well.

The album has some good moments, and these two songs are my personal highlights as well. But the folk vibe just doesn't work for me.

Let's face it, Myles solo stuff is decent, Slash band stuff is decent, Tremonti stuff can be decent too, but Alter Bridge is the project where they excel the most.

Yeah, spot on.

Tremonti's new album is much better than Myles' album, in my opinion.
