I brush my teeth

I ??????????
Got my sunglasses on
When I walk down the streets
I know where I come from

It's alright

?????
A baby cries
?????
From his eyes

A schoollbell rings
The teachers' tired
And an old man
Does his 9 to 5

It's alright
You don't need a ticket to get on the ride
You gotta hold on tight
And don't let go

Oh yeah - it's alright
Another day in the life of America
Oh yeah - it's alright
Another day in the life of America
We're doing alright
In America

The sun goes down
The ????? is on your back
And Jesus saves
Another heart attack

A young stud steals
His daddy's Cadillac
He's looking for ?????
?????????

It's alright
It ain't a circus it's a hell of a show
You don't need no ticket
You're the star of the show

Oh yeah - it's alright
Another day in the life of America
Oh yeah - it's alright
Another day in the life of America

So turn the page
??Turn on the tape??
And history is made
In America
In America

Oh yeah - it's alright
Another day in the life of America
Oh yeah - it's alright
We'll be ??????? in America
Oh yeah - it's alright
Another day in the life of America
Oh yeah - it's alright
Another day in the life of America
We're doing alright
In America
[????] screams
a baby cries
mother works the tears
from his eyes

I guess old man's at home but workman's doing 9 to 5

Gotta listen to it via headphones, I think I can make some more of it out. Also wanna take a shot at the hugely different BTBMB lyrics.

Been meaning to write those down as well - some cool lines in there IMO!

Who understand Jon's taste...? *rolling my eyes*
He prefers the acoustic version of Born To Be My Baby when everybody knows the electric demo including the harmonica is way better...

I prefer the TLFR version of Born to be my Baby over the original. Although the original has a sensational guitar solo, the na-na-nas and aggressive riffs/pinch harmonics seem very out of place with respect to what the lyrics have to say.

The one you're thinking of is still in this video:

The TLFR version is too slow for my taste, same with the acoustic version; I like more the demo and the final track.
However Born To Be My Baby is one of the few songs that I like of that imperfect This Left Feels Right album.

I'd never noticed - until now - how much In America's intro sounds like Let It Rock's.

But considering the YT version linked just now has no audible lyrics other than the chorus, I suppose there's a new leak out there? Could anybody point me in the proper direction?
