The 32nd annual Monmouth County Friends of Clearwater have confirmed a number of acts for this year's festival, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday August 18 & 19 in Sunset Park in Asbury Park, NJ. Saturday features Chris Barron, lead singer of the Spin Doctors promoting his just released solo album, Pancho and the Kid featuring the song Brokenhearted Serenade. Also on Saturday will be Vini Lopez's Steel Mill, and the Upstage Jam Band featuring alumni of the legendary Upstage. Blues acts Matt O'Ree and Patrick Droney are also on the bill.
Sunday sees a rare Jersey Shore appearance by Scottish singer-songwriter Al Stewart of "Year of the Cat" fame. Also on Sunday are veteran Jersey Shore favorites Glen Burtnik and Boccigalupe & the Badboys as well as new favorites Paperback Radio and Under New Ownership. Sunday will also see the return to the Jersey Shore of Billy Falcon, co-writer of a number of recent Bon Jovi songs including Everybody's Broken and I Love this Town from Lost Highway, Last Man Standing and Complicated from Have a Nice Day, Undivided and Bounce from that album and Just Older from Crush. A few more acts remain to be announced.
Here are some links to some cool pictures of Billy Falcon with Richie and Jon, as well as some with Billy Falcon's daughter Rose and Richie and Jon. Rose Falcon is also an accomplished singer-songwriter and will be performing with her father Billy at the Clearwater Festival.
"BILLY FALCON IS EVERYTHING YOU'D WANT TO BE. A SONGWRITER WHOSE STORYTELLING IS FUELED BY EMOTION AND PERFORMER WHO WILL NOT OFFER HIS SEATBELT AS HE TAKES YOU ON A RIDE YOUR NOT LIKELY TO FORGET....EVER." JON BON JOVI.
