Default Fox Hunting

Hello All!

I was in a vicious, political mood when I posted my opinion on the Abortion thread, mentioning Fox Hunting. And I'm sure after a few posts on here, I will be again.

But Anyway!

What is everyone's opinion on Fox Hunting, and Hunting in general? I.E. Fishing, swatting flies, stag hunting, bear baiting, capturing animals for captivity/ivory/pelts and/or fowl hunting?

Just wondering if I'm the only country-dwelling pro hunter on the boards! I expect so, but it's worth the asking!

Love
Laura

Swatting flies? Don't you think you're going over the top just a little, darlin'?

Flies have feelings too, sweetheart!

And if you tell me that killing a fox is wrong, then what's the difference between shooting a fox and smashing a fly to bits with a big plastic mesh?

How can anyone enjoy it?

I can condone hunting to the extent of survival, ie hunt or be hunted, but fox hunting is completely insane. They starve the fox and the dogs for a couple of days prior to the "hunt", and then they release the fox and the dogs, and the stuck up, pompus, toffee nosed snobs chase them on horses, claiming that it is a "sport".

The fox, exhausted, is then caught by the dogs, which rip it to pieces why it is still alive. They then claim that they doing this to stop the foxes stealing chickens, etc, but they're not.

I can understand farmers being able to shoot foxes which are stealing their chickens, but no more than that.

Ah no!
Thomas, you misunderstand me!
Drag Hunting is my game! No Dogs!
And we're not all posh toffs. I'm as common a cardiff girl as they come! Don't even belong to the pony club!

And I hate brandy!

Love
Laura

Well, after that description, how could I not be all for it?

Keep On Rockin'

ps. I don't really have an opinion of it, but I do think I'd be leaning more towards it being a bad thing. Of course, on a scale of 1 to, say Iraq, its not all that important an issue

I don't support ppl getting on horses & send a load of dogs to rip a Fox apart...

Cowardly
Cruel
Not sport

But controlling fox numbers is OK as long as its done in an humane way.
