Default Pink Floyd reform for Live 8 in London

Amazing news for the Pink Floyd fans!!!
From BBC News:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/4085966.stm

Rock band Pink Floyd's classic line-up will be reunited on stage for the first time in 24 years at next month's Live 8 concert in London.

Roger Waters will join band members Dave Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright for the show in Hyde Park.

Waters last performed on stage with them at London's Earls Court in 1981.

The Live 8 concert, organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to help fight African poverty, is one of five taking place around the world on 2 July.

Pink Floyd join a star-studded line-up at Hyde Park which includes Madonna, REM, U2, Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Coldplay and Robbie Williams.

"Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world," said Pink Floyd's Dave Gilmour.

"Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context, and if reforming for this concert will help focus attention then it's got to be worthwhile," he added.

guess what! i was so excited and happy about the reunion that after reading the news, i listened to 5 floyd albums (Dark side of the moon, Wish you were here, Animals, The wall, The final cut) without stop till now!
man i never thought i ever see the day that pink floyd would play together again....

by the way, what do you think they will play? there are lots of bands thats gonna play there, so i dont think each band will get to play more than one song.

i guess for the floyd, it will be Wish You Were Here.

Heard on the radio that they're gonna do some of The Dark Side.
It's been 30 years since it was released...
Really looking forward to seeing them.

They will probably get about 15 minutes to play so they can do more than one song. My true wish would be that they play something NEW but I know that won't happen. Anything they play will make me happy - as long as they are as good as they used to be.
Now all I want to hear about is a Zeppelin reunion too

Kathleen

playing a New song is really impossible, because i doubt if they have Any new song at all, Gilmour and Waters have their own new written song, but nothing for the band.

Having 15 min to play, imagine they decide to play a long one like Shine on, or Dogs, so even 15 min isn't enough

i'd say Wish you were here, because Waters been playing it on every charity show he attended. Also for everyother song that they're gonna play, they need a full band, another keyboard player, another guitarist (sometimes 2), Backing Vocals.... so its almost impossible for the 4 of them to play such songs on Dark Side, Or The Wall all by themselves. but anything they play will make me happy, i don't really care...
