Default Discover Any Bands or Artists?

Are there any bands out there you didn't think you'd care for but end up being a big fan or loving in the end? For me, this year it would be The Mars Volta! Great live show, and a great band with a great new album!

Definately Rooster. When I first saw them I never thought I'd end up liking them, but then my sister bought their album and it's fantastic. I bought my own copy tho because I don't steal (anymore!).

Yeah same here. I saw em like at the Trafford Centre in Manchester. They only did about 4 songs and I thought they were a busted wannabe playing soft rock, but after hearing there album they've got a few good rockers on there. Don't really like sappy songs like Deep and Meaningless though, but Platinum Blind and Come Get Some rock!

Yeah they're good but they need to communicate more with the audience. I saw them opening for SOAD and they were just playing for each other. Got boring after 15 minutes.

Radiohead grew on me these last couple of years. As did SOAD for that matter. A lot of local bands from France or Canada too. The Arcade Fire among others.

Velvet Revolver. I found Slither to be a sucky song, but the rest of the record is great.

Avenged Sevenfold.
Their last album "city of evil" is such an impressive album. It's got some of the best guitar work I've heard all year. I kind of consider them to be like a modern day Iron Maiden.

I just watched a piece on Avenged Sevenfold on MTV and their music sounds damn good. I'm definitely gonna buy an album.

A mate of mine recommended Avenged Sevenfold to me. He said that I'd like them because of their Iron Maiden sort of sound. I'm gonna have to check them out.

A year ago I wouldn't have even attempted listening to James Blunt, but I've got his album and seen him live. He's a great songwriter and I predict big things from that guy.

through the last couple of days, i found myself enjoying Bjork, and its really bizarre, because i've always hated her, but now i really enjoy her music and i got all her albums.
in the last few months, i found some older bands that ive become a fan like AC/DC, Vixen...

Let me recommend city of evil then, they have another one before it called waking the fallen I think, It still has great guitar work but the songs are filled with screams which could make it easy for people to dismiss them as an average screamo band, which is not the case, the singer had throat surgery cause his voice couldn't handle all the screams so now he's had to learn how to sing, bless him for it.
