Default Desmond Child - Bat III

Thought it was interesting that DC is producing Meatloaf's latest Bat out of Hell offering. Why don't Jovi work with him anymore, considering their best stuff was done with him?

He co-wrote few songs on HAND and was executive producer on it as well. So I´d say they´re still working together.

Their best stuff? hardly.

I don't see his name in the credits for Dry County, Something To Believe In, My Guitar Lies Bleeding. Notice all 3 have an edge to them that never really recalls any formula. The candy coating isn't there.

That is what Desmond does. Look at Keep The Faith. I bet you anything "Everybody needs somebody to love, everybody needs somebody to hate" is Desmond. Just as "We gotta hold on to what we got cuz it doesn't make a difference if we make it or not" is. What he contributes can work...but it can also easily turn into overkill.

I doubt that Desmond is a famous songwriter because he writes cheesy pre-choruses But yeah, he is hired to give the songs a glossy touch - poppy so to speak.

It was never "turned into" a disco song, it was written as one.

The song draws heavily from the disco style that was popular in the United States in the late 1970s. KISS guitarist and vocalist Paul Stanley, who co-wrote the song with Desmond Child and Vini Poncia, has stated that "I Was Made For Lovin' You" was a conscious effort on his part to prove how easy it was to write and record a hit disco song.
