Default Questions about Novocaine

Hey!

I was just listening to Novocaine and I have two questions:

- What's a "rolodex"?
- What does Jon say at the end of the song?

PS: This is one of the best songs on the album!

Thanks!

Have A Nice Day!

A rolodex is like just a list of friends really ... I think its one of those round things that you put lots of cards into ... can't really describe it any better than that!

No idea what Jon says at the end, the beginning sounds like: "You're a 21st Century man, this is a 21st Century land (band?)" or something. Its good to see the return of the BJ adlibs a la In & Out Of Love, Something For The Pain etc.

The end goes something like this:

It's okay, you're the 21st century man, this is a 21st century land, gotta get in touch with my inner self .. found inside. That's all I've wanted right, ya understand.Maybe what I gotta do is understand. What?...Who's she? I don't know. I've, I've never understood anything to begin with.

It sounds more like "feminine side" to me. and that's all "They" ever wanted.

Yeah they are pretty cool. Can anyone tell what Jon says during Unbreakable just before the solo kicks in?

I hear it as

"....going to have kids...birthday cake
Well in the end, think again
Cuz I bend but I don't break"

I don't think they've ever used the "bend don't break" line before tho..

Hehe yeah, they used it in Standin' right?

They tend to use a lot of stuff over and over. The used the "won't back down" line a lot, and the "these open arms" line, and the "raise my hands" line a fair bit, and of course the "living your/my life" lyric.
