I know I've heard or seen interviews where both Jon and Richie have said they wrote songs for Skid Row. We also know they were never credited on their albums. It was rumored that Jon and Richie were ghostwriting for them (and also for Gorky Park) way back when. Considering that the deal was over publishing rights which songwriters keep, I tend to believe that Jon and Richie wrote songs for Skid Row and that was their way of keeping the profits that they would have gotten if credited anyway. But that's just what I think is logical. This is one of those things we'll probably never know the real details about.

Yeah, I think Richie and Skids must have had some kind of good relations. King of Swing mentioned them in the booklet of "Stranger In This Town".

Also, Richie is mentioned in the credits for Subhuman Race. Just Richie.

To this day I do not believe Jon and Richie ghostwrote Skid Row's hits. I believe Snake and Bolan are perfectly capable to craft those hits.

With that said, it's really not Jon's fault. Nobody forced Skid Row to sign the contract.

Been rumours going round for 20 odd years that Jon & Richie were ghost writers on a few songs from the debut .... I should of asked Scotti when i met him at Rock City ..... Good news is they are coming back to the UK 2023

Probably most of Skid Row's first album was done with Matt Fallon, if that answers your question

In my opinion, Jon gave Skid Row's record a push, but I do not believe he was personally involved in the first record's production.

What was Jon's involvement with Cinderella's first record?
