Default John Farnham

This video is compelling to me. A guy called John Farnham had a one hit wonder in the 80s called You're The Voice. He probably had many more hits, but this one is best known. His voice is unbelievable, and I guess the point I'm making is that there is no excuse for the demise of a great voice despite age. In the vid in 2003 he is 54 and still has passion and soul in his voice/performance as he did in the 80s. Anyway compare and contrast these 3 videos. It's a shame our own JBJ has lost 70-80% of his gritty pipes that we all loved 20-30 years ago.

2003 video -
2009 video -

He probably hasnt played half the shows that JBJ has for a start and it is pretty mediocre Radio 2 shite that hes singing too.
The second two look like guest spots too, where he,s just asked to sing one song."Which one?" he asks. "Which one do you think John?" the reply. He can belt it out as hes probably not going to have to for another year.

btw How can someone be a one hit wonder but probably have many more hits?

One hit wonder overseas but very well known in Australia where he's been nicknamed "The Voice" among other things. He's in his 60s now, has been in semi-retirement for the last decade but still pops up to do a few shows pretty much every year (I think I read an interview last year where he said it used to be an ego thing but now performing is like a drug, or words to that effect).
