Default let's get the proper version of hallelujah to xmas #1

so the x factor is going for it and we've heard jon and the boys do it but even though it's not the original, no on ein their right mind will argue that jeff buckley's version isn't by far the best.

the sun amongst other people are trying to get the buckley version to number 1 so the week before xmas get yer arse onto itunes or wherever you buy your legit downloads that count towards the charts and download the buckley version.

I don't like Jeff Buckley's version, the only version I've heard that I do actually like is from Bon Jovi. I suppose perhaps it depends which you hear first and get used to, so the first I heard was Bon Jovi, but I don't like any other version I've heard.

NONONONONONONONONO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it goes buckley > wainwright > everything else.

really everything that's followed from buckley has just been a trite copy including the bon jovi.

i break it out now and again for acoustic slots and even then there's absolutely nothing i can think of that could make it any better or put my stamp on it.

Like any music, it's just personal opinion.

I'd say Cohen. Buckley's nice and good, but it's been destroyed by emos and "people who wanna cry" when they hear it. I rarely play Buckleys.
The choir in Cohens version is amazing.

I have to say that this song was also destroyed by a norwegian boyband last year, based upon Buckleys version.

Don't care too much for Jovis version, it ain't bad, but it ain't groundbreaking either.

Jeff Buckley's is better than Bon Jovi's, I have to admit. I do love Bon Jovi's version but Jeff's is very beautiful. This song seems to be bloody everywhere.

It would be pretty ironic is Jeff's version beat Alex to the Christmas number one, huh. But then it would have to beat Bob the Builder's and Peter Kay's too. We all know it's gonna be one of those three for the UK number one.

Peter Kay must not get to number one. Could that fat cunt get any less funny?

Anyway, Buckley's Hallelujah pisses all over everybody else's but this won't work.

Didn't Buckley copy from John Cale?

It's all subjective anyway. The Buckley version never really inspired me.
