New Jersey Rockers Close Out American Tour with Tiger Woods at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas on April 19th

Los Angeles, CA (January 29, 2003) — The Tiger Woods Foundation announced today that Bon Jovi will headline Tiger Jam VI Presented by Coca-Cola, hosted by Tiger Woods. The sixth annual event will take place on April 19, 2003, at 8:30 PM in the Mandalay Bay Events Center, Las Vegas, Nev. The annual benefit concert raises and distributes funds for the Tiger Woods Foundation and children’s charities based in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.

“Tiger Jam has had outstanding talent every year, and we’ve continued that tradition with Bon Jovi,” Tiger Woods said. “I grew up listening to Bon Jovi, and I’m really looking forward to seeing them live. It means a lot to me that Jon and the guys have joined in my efforts to support today’s youth through Tiger Jam.”

Tickets for the concert will go on sale to the general public beginning Feb. 1, and can be purchased through Ticketmaster Charge-By-Phone lines at (702) 474-4000, at all Ticketmaster retail ticket centers, www.ticketmaster.com, and at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Box Office. Individual ticket prices start at $45.

Bon Jovi’s latest album, Bounce, which debuted at number two on the Billboard charts, includes the single “Everyday,” which was nominated for a Grammy Award for “Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group.” Bounce is the follow-up to the successful album Crush, which sold eight million copies worldwide and was certified double platinum in the United States. Bon Jovi has sold more than 93 million albums in their career and continues to rack up hits including current singles from Bounce, “Everyday” and “Misunderstood.” Bon Jovi kicks of their U.S. tour in February. Also performing at the event will be The Goo Goo Dolls. The Goo Goo Dolls’ seventh studio album, Gutterflower, was released in April 2002 and debuted at number four on the Billboard Charts. The album’s first single, "Here Is Gone" has enjoyed great success at radio and achieved staggering status as the #1 added single on the modern rock, rock, Top 40 and adult alternative charts in the first week. Gutterflower follows up the band's multi-platinum album Dizzy Up The Girl, which sold over five million copies worldwide and spawned two #1 hits, "Iris" and "Slide" as well as three top ten singles, "Black Balloon," "Dizzy" and "Broadway."

Proceeds from Tiger Jam VI will be used to support the many programs funded throughout the year by the Tiger Woods Foundation. Charities that received funding from Tiger Jam V include Child Haven, Center for Independent Living, Greater Las Vegas Inner City Games, Boys & Girls Club of Las Vegas, UNLV Women’s Athletics, GRAMMY in the Schools and The VH1 Save the Music Foundation.
