With regards to the voice... do we reckon that a year plus off (probably more like two to three years off, not counting the occasional studio session like the Biden thing) will give Jon a chance to rest his vocal chords?

It'll rest them but I don't think it's going to make too much of a difference. He's not exactly sounding great on the performances we have seen over the last 12 months or so.

I wasn't expecting a return of 1994 level vocals, it was more a matter of how many studio albums he is even capable of doing anymore. If the touring cycle had continued as it used to, the steady regress of the last 10 years, starting with his current voice would have been... brutal.

I think studio wise he still has as many as he wants left in him, really. He sounds great on some parts of 2020 and really poor on some others. The chorus on 'Story Of Love' with how Laa Daa crap is the worst I've heard him on an album, I think.

Yet he sounds solid on Blood In The Water and Luv Can.

It's live that will be the problem from now on. The On A Night Like This show was so hard to watch at times.

I'd hope that the whole Covid episode winds up being a game changer for legacy acts. Relying solely on touring to generate income, artistic merit and output is an especially bad idea for JBJ and company, because like you said, even a fine tuned live performance is hard to watch these days.

Of course, having missed the boat is not exclusive to Jon - Ozzy, Kiss and the Scorpions are all 70+, and have been doing farewell tour upon farewell tour. Now they might not be able to finish their current ones - it's not unlikely they already played their last show, with health risks being high for their age group and regular touring unlikely to resume for another year or so. JBJ is nowhere near that old, but "brand Jovi" would benefit more from solid albums than from terrible live shows.

I said at the time he sings like a deaf person who can’t hear himself.
Tried to watch a few songs again but couldn’t get through them. They were vocally really bad
