Default Is There A 'These Days' in TC to THINFS?

Lets say Jon took 5 to 6 years to make an album. If we laid out all the tracks released from TC to THINFS, do we have a stellar album? I'm talking These Days quality.

We Have:
The Circle
Greatest Hits Tracks (including This Is Our House)
What About Now (including Burn With Me)
Burning Bridges (including Beautiful Day)
This House Is Not for Sale
This House Is Not for Sale: Bonus Tracks

List 10 to 12 songs that you think could make it. Not just a greatest hits but more so an album balance.

On the top of my head , I'll say:

Bullet
Love's The Only Rule
WWYDF
BWC
No Apologies
TWTWMM
Brokenpromiseland
BAT
LWTG
THINFS
Devil's In The Temple
Superman Tonight

Not quite These Days quality, but it'll make a solid album.

There's no way. The best 10 songs from that era nowhere near touch songs like Hey God, These Days, Something To Believe In, Letting You Go, Damned.

The only songs that I think are of any caliber are:

Love's The Only Rule
Superman Tonight
Thorn In My Side
What's Left Of Me

I'll choose my favorite song out of those 4, Love's The Only Rule - and when I compare it to the musicianship, passion, dynamics etc of a song that might be it's "equal", which might be These Days - it just doesn't hold a candle to it.

TD is far from my fav album.

However, the one thing it has that you won't get from just taking the best stuff of the last couple of albums is a coherent theme and sound. You'd get 12 very good songs IMO, but a very good ALBUM? I doubt it.

I'll just say that if you get the best songs from ( insert albums name here) you won't get another These Days. You would just get a lot of songs with different type of style and lyrics which won't fit in 1 album. These Days is the best Jovi album for a reason.

These Days is imo the best album made by any band ever. I love the albums you listed, there are a lot of stellar songs there but nothing comes even 1 % to the material on These Days.

Exactly. These Days is maybe the best album by any band ever, only to be rivalled by Appetite For Destruction, Back In Black and Led Zeppelin IV.

Apples are the best food ever, rivaled only maybe by oranges.

I think songs like Teardrop, I'm With You, Loves The Only Rule are a good start to getting close... However with no songs containing Jon's higher vocal range, that might be the negative which ruins that fantasy...

What about Who Would You Die For? Jon belts out some insanely high notes on it (the final "I WANNA KNOW!" legitimately brings his 90's voice back), the melody is great, the production is great, the lyrics are f***ing incredible...

Actually, WWYDF and Fingerprints are their only TD-level tracks since the TD album for me:

https://youtu.be/AB67pA-82Ew

https://youtu.be/2reavl_l9f0

However, this about is the best album I could make out of post-LH BJ stuff overall:

1. THINFS
2. Saturday/Sunday
3. Water
4. Superman
5. Bullet
6. We Don't Run
7. Roller Coaster
8. Who Would You Die For
9. Fingerprints
10. The Devil's In The Temple
11. Teardrop
12. Pictures Of You
13. Love's The Only Rule
