Default are Faith and Crush comeback albums?

just wondered ppl views on this...personally im not sure, cos they never did split up before either album, so in my book it woudlnt be a comeback...however some ppl view 5 yr break as one so im curious as to the views.

I think to long time fans they're not "comeback" records, but to the general public they can be seen that way because of the amout of time that passed between band CDs. It's always irked me a bit to see "comeback" used in relation to those CDs because IMO they never went away. But my perspective is different than the average consumer's.

arent we all average consumers?

yeah i think yr right, but in truth crush did kinda feel like a comeback album, those 5 yrs seemed very slow, and with richie and jon doing outside stuff i wondered if they would ever record again...plus i had no internet which meant i had no information really

Crush for sure not. At least not in Europe. Maybe in the USA because BJ weren't very successfull there between NJ and Crush.

Maybe KTF since nobody really knew if the band will continue or not after NJ. Even not the band members themselves.

I think KTF was a major comeback album just because the people in that era didn't have many medias where to get the news. Today we have something called INTERNET. In 1992 or before I think this word was just in Bill Gates head (in the pessimistic way... he was the first who didn't believe in internet at the beginning).
From These days to Crush, we all had more or less news from the web that informed us about what was going on with the band members, and in fact we didn't think to a band split up. Not as much as the 1990 people was thinking. I'm not sure of my english, but I think you understand me.
By the way I think that the Jon's and Richie's solo albums, especially in 1990-91, left space to a Bon Jovi split up policy, more than in 1997-98 with Destination Anywhere and Undiscovered Soul, because of the internet. The magazines and all the press weren't immediate as the internet is!
So, finally maybe KTF was a comeback album for the fans, and Crush was a comeback album for the general public!

Maybe KTF because they had to see if they still loved what they were doing. They weren't split up but pretty close to it. Now Crush wasn't a comeback at all. I think they were ready to put out an album sooner but didn't they have a lot of behind the scenes problems? I think the record company was sold and somebody died like a producer, I think (OMG - getting old & can't remember who ).

If not a comeback album, KTF had a "back to the roots" approach to it after the worst period in the band's relations.
Crush is just another band album that came 5 years after it's predecessor.

KFT not really a come back but more a new direction in their song writing.
It rocks different from NJ, but It rocks...it is the things the most important....

Aloha !

Crush wasn't, since they had the plans for a new album after the first part of the TD tour.

nope not to me. They just took a break from touring and making band albums but as you said they didn't split up.
