With a duet, he gets another shot at a #1 single, CMT airplay, a broader audience, and possibly another Grammy.
It had to be released within a few weeks of the original so it could be included on the album as an extra song. That way, Jennifer Nettles fans can help push the album to #1, for the Oct 2 debut.
