Default Only Lonely Live

Can anyone help me with this. Been racking my brains of this version of Only Lonely for ages and I cannot decipher when or why this was released? It doesn’t sound live to me, probably a sound check. Also Jon’s voice sounds too clean to be around 85/86.

Any ideas?

This is taken from a soundcheck at one of the Japanese shows in August 1986. His voice was still good there.
There was a radio interview with Obie around the release of the 2010 special editions where he talked at great lengths about a new technique that had allowed him to restore tapes that were damaged by floodings and this having been one of them. Of course he didn't say which show it was, other than it being from a soundcheck in 1986.

The sound quality is incredible. Also it’s apparent that Jon had a show voice and a “practice voice”. Sounds very similar to late 80s early 90’s

Yep! You beat me to it. I have notes on these things.

Japan Soundcheck 1986

That Japanese leg ran from August 11th through August 25th and they did around 10 shows so it's hard to pinpoint which one it came from.

Obie has all this stuff but no one ever gets any of it. Unless they are just saving it all for Jons retirement.

It’s so random, but so brilliant. Obie needs to make more of these available

Yes! He most definitely does.

I almost prefer his reversal voice. It's much more laid back and natural. He doesn't reach as high though.

I make all these mixed playlists of live performances and I tend to always go for the rehearsals. I just did one the other day and used the Saturday Night Live Bed Of Roses Rehearsal. It's on YouTube and I think BonJovi90 put it out there. It's awesome.

Obie needs to do a lot of stuff... And I think he's all in for it too... but for some reason it never happens.
