I really don't get what everyone is fussing about. Richie was being himself and friendly. The host is the son of Jimmy Barnes and they obviously have some history so it was a friendly chat.

Not all Richie's jokes are funny and he tries too hard but it was all in good fun. If you want to see an awkward joke, look at the interview Jon and Richie did with Conan in 2003.

http://www.youtube.com/v/RkNjW39RnAU
It starts at 4:40 and even Jon joins in with his comment. How is that any different?

How was his response to the Bonnie and Clyde reference pissy? He even used an old joke Jon told years ago. Jon said they were like outlaws. They ride into town, have all the women and leave with the money. I always thought that's where all the cowboys references originated from.

He was awkward... simple as that...

Maybe he's just getting too old to be acting as such. Telling the same jokes and using the same voices that you did when you were a kid doesn't work anymore.

That Conan interview was from 15 years ago was when they were in their early 40's. In addition, the chowder joke was equally distasteful too but it's a little different telling jokes on late night TV surrounded by male comedians verses early morning TV referencing how your girlfriend likes to give blow jobs while she's sitting next to you.

I was expecting quite something after having read the comments on here, but there's not much difference in this interview in comparison to most of the others he's done.

It's just like Richie's been most of the time...a little over the edge, a bit slurry and a few sometimes unfitting jokes...nothing to write home about...

His performance character on those interviews hes done the last years, has taken over his true character.

The entire interview wasn't that bad. It was just the 1 minutes segment that was initially posted...

Aside from the fact he's dressed like Jimmy Saville, there's nothing wrong at all. He's quite often goofy and awkward, it's just now post-rehab everyone's jumping on the booze, whereas previously no one was bothered. It was a prefectly decent interview.

The Jovi mention seemed to irk him and Ori almost had to chill him out a bit to stay on point. Seems to be in a weird position of wanting to distance from the Jovi chat, whilst at the same time being on the side of getting into the rock hall. But then, you're a massive part of Bon Jovi and you play those songs live so own it and just make sure the interview focuses on the solo aspect mostly and not just asks about BJ all the time.

If the Jovi mention irks him in all the interviews
Why he wants to play with the band at the induction?

This precisely.

And he does want to perform with Bon Jovi at the induction because he's helped to build the legacy and he thinks he deserves it as much as the other guys. I want to see them together even at this one event.

Just noticed on Facebook that RSO have "an evening of music and conversation" in Cutting Room, NYC on the 28th. Tickets are available for 25 dollars. It's also live streamed by Guitar World magazine. I guess this is a similar event to the one that takes place in LA Grammy Museum on December 6th. Also, they are performing on Nov 29th in a Guitar Legends for Heroes event that will be shown on TV on Dec 23rd.
