Default A couple of 'influences' I've discovered...

OK, don't flame me for this thread, but I've recently listened to a couple of songs a thought "****ing hell, that's (Bon Jovi song)". I don't mean it in a bad way, everyone borrows parts of other songs. Ok, here I go...

Listen to the riff that starts at 3:20 in this song and see if you recognise it:
And the melody to the verse in this classic sounds a lot like a certain song from Lost Highway:

lol i remember when the these days bonus album with jon and ray davies singing lola at wembley and there were a shitload of people on here saying who the **** is this clown that can't sing and what;s that shitty song???

as much as i love bon jovi, jon (or richie) can't hold a torch to ray davies songwriting abilities.

The first one, the very end of the riff, sounds maybe a bit like "Who Says You Can't Go Home" but I'm not sure what song you think sounds like Lola.

"Put The Boy Back In Cowboy" sounds a little bit like "Lola". It's also very similar to "Fat bottomed girls" Queen (even rip off) - as far as I remember, we've been discussing this few times.

I thought Lola resembled Seat Next To You???

Anyways, I can't hear any resemblance for the first one.

My first thought was "Put the boy...", but now I see you're right (or I just want to hear SNTY?). Anyway, I give up
