Default Why no Bon Jovi on The Simpsons?

"It might be hard to believe, but there are times when special guest stars don’t want to be on The Simpsons. Jean talked about the few times that does end up happening. “ Occasionally…[there are] people whom we’ve asked to be on, and we wrote them a part…then they decline,’ he said. ”I won’t name them–all right, well, Jon Bon Jovi.”"

I seem to remember reading his part would involve bitching about Richie and being covered in a mass of cheese. Not sure how true that was but those were the supposed reasons he said no.

Didn't they finish the Jovi part and then the guys pulled out because it was quite offensive? Well, all bands who appear on the Simpsons need to take some slack but most are light-hearted enough to do it. Maybe the cheese thing was too much for Jon Bon though.

Change Season 10 to 14, and I'm inclined to mostly agree.

In any case, the joke that was supposedly rejected by Jon was reused/reshaped in a later episode. A character played by Ray Romano orders a plate of nachos, and when it arrives comments "I haven't seen this much melted cheese since I left my Billy Joel albums in the sun."

I think that's a pretty great joke, and still great if you put Bon Jovi in there.

I agree. I mean I'm a bit bias, as I'm a die hard Simpsons fan, but being made fun of on that show is an honor.

Agreed. We need more activity in The Simpsons thread as well.
