Ok at first this is going to sound weird, i know. But think about it for a minute. Has a band ever recorded the same STUDIO album twice? i dont think so. Here's what im saying... What would happen if the boys went in to the studio and re-recorded Slippery When Wet. Not a live album, not a re-release, but a re-recording. Same songs, same vocals but it will sound different because of technology and Jon and richie's voices sounding 20 years older. It's something that has never been done before i think it would be great for the boxset. People ask "Would hits like prayer hit today?" Wouldnt this be a similar way to find out? Some of you may think i am nuts however i thought that this was a good idea for a boxset. I guess it could also be like a greatest hits package where they studio recorded their greatest hits aswell... but just think about it. Something new that has NEVER been done before (at least not that i know of).
dont all attack at once i liked this idea.

this is a really good idea !

As you said, the voices will be different, just for this, i think it will be nice to hear a new version of this album.
And it's true, i don't know if some artist did this already ... i will buy it, sure !!

I've had the same idea in the past, but didn't think it would appeal to anyone else, lol.

Has a band recorded the same studio album twice? Yes. I think Danger Danger did it (with different vocalist though) and Ozzy did it partially with his recent re-releases.

I don't mind them rerecording some of the songs (actually isn't it like Prayer 94 or Motley Crue's Shout 97?), but not the entire album. Especially if that album will occupy one out of the 3 or 4 discs in the boxset. That would suck.

Maybe they should just re-record their greatest hits form the 80s. That could be interesting.

They only recorded the vocals and some overdubs. And the first version wasn't officialy released...

Again, only bass and drums were re-recorded, officially to fix the errors on original tracks, but rumours say that it was because of copyrights... They didn't want to pay anything for the original players.

I think that idea would work, but only a few songs, not entire album.

I think that's a good idea. They have changed some of their songs in live versions, and i usually like those. but if they would make those changes into a recording that would sound super! :P

Good idea, good idea. I still can't wait for the box set to come out!

For the box-set I want songs I don't know yet. So no, I don't like the idea.
