A pale, thin-looking Dave talks with Dana Perino:

Remember back when he had that parasitic infection, was bedridden for four months, and had to be treated with a drug containing arsenic? I hope it didn't compromise his immune system...

In a subsequent Instagram, which he claims was taken BEFORE the interview, Dave looks a little healthier:

Newsweek:
Researchers at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia have discovered that the antiparasitic drug Ivermectin can inhibit replication of SARS-CoV-2, the virus the causes COVID-19, according to a study published (4/3/2020)...

"Ivermectin is very widely used and seen as a safe drug. We need to figure out now whether the dosage you can use it at in humans will be effective—that's the next step," said the study's leader..."We found that even a single dose could essentially remove all viral RNA by 48 hours, and that even at 24 hours, there was a really significant reduction..."

what an irresponsible comment

Can fully agree. Italy has the biggest crisis since the world war. 800 people died only yesterday. In my home in Austria everybody has to stay home and is only allowed for work and shopping to go out and Dave puts out such a stupid statement.

Why are you people so afraid of words ?? Let everybody say what he thinks and each person can draw their own conclusions.

In support of David Bryan, here is a list of distinguished academics that share a similar view and moreover think that the shutdown can be worse for public health:

Dr John Ioannidis, professor of Medicine, of Health Research and Policy and of Biomedical Data Science, at Stanford University School of Medicine and a Professor of Statistics at Stanford University School of Humanities and Sciences. He is director of the Stanford Prevention Research Center, and co-director of the Meta-Research Innovation Center at Stanford (METRICS).

Dr Wolfgang Wodarg, German physician specializing in Pulmonology, politician and former chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. In 2009 he called for an inquiry into alleged conflicts of interest surrounding the EU response to the Swine Flu pandemic.

Cool. Great list. Besides copying the list of names, have you read what they've said? There's a bit of subtlety in between a yes for a shutdown and a supposedly no, it's not as black and white as you make it out to be. And no, that list is not "in support of David Bryan". In the end it's not got much with this not calling it the flu though and why it's an idiotic statement to make. Besides half of the world currently disagreeing with your list here's an image that shows why "We're so afraid of words" and why they're wrong.

Salaam Aleikum,

I will not further derail the discussion.

I just point out that yes there is a lot of subtlety to discuss about the actual threat that the virus poses and the actual consequences of our responses.

But this discussion is not taking place. 95% of people take for granted a certain kind of black and any argument towards something more ... grey, is instantly perceived as white.

The meme which you provided attests for this mono-dimensional understanding of the situation.

We shall not discuss further here, but I urge the people to be informed about different opinions on this (and any) subject. Even more-so when they come from people that are recognized as "experts" (since we value expertise that much in our current culture).

Cheers everyone and be well
