What a joke. MJ's "performance", like most everything else he did post 1992 was lip synched. Britney's was too. Bon Jovi's performance was raw, authentic, surprising, and revolutionary.

..don't see them having a chance against MJ, but I voted. The performance is the opposite of the MTV schtick, so I'd gladly vote. You can argue that some of the others deserve the icon title too. But I don't see what a live boa has to do with music, and Gaga is more the product of MTV than an icon of it, at this point.
