Lightbulb Improvisation On Stage

Figured this can double as a thread to continue all of the complaining about the static set lists but the main thing is...

I'm curious, does anyone know what Jon's attitude is towards signs? If someone in the front row, right up to the stage, kept waving a sign that said 'Everyday' on it, do you think he'd play it?

If he played a few fan suggestions each night wouldn't that be an amazing way to spice up the shows? Anyone think he'd be open to that?

no i don´t think so for the moment, he´s still searching for his comfort zone on stage...
maybe an easy song like "Summertime" or something easy from the boxset if you´re lucky enough.. just enjoy the Shows..

Don't worry, I'm enjoying the shows. I'm just wondering if anyone knows whether he's open to taking sign requests.

You have to remember that there are Phil X and Shanks on guitars. Surely they have practiced tons of songs, but not like Richie and the rest of the band who can actually play pretty much any song they want. So if someone waved Everyday sign, it probably wouldn't be played cause they are not able to.

On the other hand Jon could play something on his own. Like he did with Letting You Go in London.

Good point. I just wish the brand could have more spontaneity and surprise.

From my experience, he's open to signs but it may take him a few shows after he sees it to play it depending on the song. I was running last night and had my music on shuffle and Thorn In My Side came on and I thought I want to hear that. So, I tweeted Phil, bonjovi, and Shanks to consider rotating it in the set. Worth a shot lol!!

He usually reads those signs and, depending on his mood, considers doing them during the show. I remember in Randers 2008 when he decided he wanted to do Fever and caught Hugh off guard as he didn't know the chords.
In 2008 and 2011 fans were complaining on the European tour that Jon had acknowledged the banners and the songs got played, but usually two or three shows after the banner had been raised. This pissed off a few fans since they most likely didn't attend those specific concerts.
In Mannheim 2011 there was a banner for Never Say Goodbye and Jon really though about it and I think even discussed it with Richie on the circle, but they went for I'll Be There For You. 3 or 4 shows later the song got played in Belgium then.

I think losing Bobby hurt the chances for rare stuff being played on the fly too.

I just saw Bobby the other day in Bradley Beach, NJ. Nice guy. Doesn't look well though.
