Default Dire Straits

Are there any Dire Straits fans here? I think they were a great band back in the 70s and I really hope they decide to get back together one of these days. Mark Knopfler has to be one of the best guitar players of all time. I was gonna go and see him in June, but he cancelled his tour due to broken collar bone in a motorbike accident.

If you've never heard of Dire Straits the you're missing out. Download Sultans of Swing, Money For Nothing, Walk Of Life, Romeo and Julliet, Tunnel Of Love and Walk Of Life. They are some of their best hits.

they are just great !!
a friend of mine was a really huge fan of them (about ten years ago) and everybody around him at this moment couldn't miss one little thing about Dire Strait,
it's a shame for Mark Knopfler's tour ... so much people was waiting for it ...

I have a video of Sultan's Of Swing and he is amazing with the things he does on the guitar. He makes it look so easy, and creates some great sounds.

Brothers In Arms was the most popular album, but there are other albums that are great too, like Making Movies, Alchemy (Live), On Every Street, Love Over Gold, etc.

Dire Straits are neck and neck with Bon Jovi at the moment for my favourate band.

Aloha !

I saw the Sailing To Philadelphia tour and I also had bought tickets for this tour which is canceled. I don't think the Dire Straits will ever return, since Mark Knopfler doesn't like it anymore, because of the reason that they have become to big. He once said that he might join a benefit concert sometime with the Dire Straits, but he doesn't have plans to re-unite.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan
