For Nightwish, I would recommend Sleeping Sun, Bless The Child or their cover version of Gary Moore's Over The Hills And Far Away... I don't particularly like Nightwish myself, but Sleeping Sun and Over The Hills are REALLY good songs. Sleeping Sun is definitely among the most beautiful "heavy ballads" I've ever heard.

She is my Sin is another really great Nightwish song. Worth the checking.

Thunder played monsters of rock festival in Donnington, Derby, UK in 1992 with Skid Row and Iron Maiden

i haven't heard them personally but they must be good to do that

I only know Low life in high places by Thunder, and I think that song is good. It's a long time since I've heard that tho...
