Default Savage Garden

I've been listening to them non stop for the past month or so, even though there's only 2 albums out. any idea why they broke up? The lead singers voice is like caramel... . (shivers)

Why can't they make pop music like this anymore?

Anyway, any fans?

Think they broke up cos the lead singer, Darren Hayes, wanted to go solo.

Think he has 3 or 4 solo albums now.

I had/might still have his first solo, pretty sure it was called Spin. Couple of decent singles on it, 'Insatiable' and 'Strange Relationship'

I like Savage Garden a lot. I love the self titled album "Savage Garden". Some absolutely awesome pop tracks on there. My personal favourite being "Break Me, Shake Me". The lyrics to that song are all so simple but put it together with a great sounding heavier pop/rock melody and it turns into a brilliantly vibrant track. I don't think there are any tracks I don't like on that album and I've been listening to it on and off since 1998.
Their second album I don't listen to very much and I'm not that much of a fan to have bothered delving into the reasons for the split. As mentioned I believed it was because of Darren Hayes desire to go solo. Just as good solo IMO.

Savage Garden is pretty awesome. Yeah, as far as I remember they basically broke up because Darren was going solo but Daniel seemed to be more comfortable as a behind-the-scenes kind of guy anyway.

"Affirmation" is one of my favourite albums. I absolutely love it - have it on my iPod and can't believe it's almost 15 years old.

Seconded. Wish they'd sort out their shit and get back together. One band I'm desperate to see live as missed them first time around.
