(06/02/03) -- A spokesman for veteran rockers The Rolling Stones told BBC News Online that they may drop their supporting act at a German concert after news emerged that some of the band's songs have racist lyrics. The band Boehse Onkelz - which translates as Evil Uncles - is booked to play with the Stones at their Hanover show on August 8th. Though Boehse Onkelz admits that they were linked with Germany's far right movement in the early eighties, they said they have since renounced their advocacy. A Stones spokesman says that they're now deciding what course to take: "We're currently considering our options." The spokesman added, "The Rolling Stones themselves didn't know this band had been booked. It was booked by a local promoter in Germany. They are the fourth largest-selling band in Germany. We've got the Cranberries, The Hives and AC/DC at other shows." Icons of the far right movement in the early eighties, Boehse Onkelz's early tunes include Turks Out, which features the line: "Go back to Ankara... you make me sick." The song is still on their early albums, though the band has tried to have it removed.
