Default Thank you for growing up with us

A video with this title was posted a few hours ago on the official YT account.

https://youtu.be/eT5hKWLJRGs

Given the latest that has happened with the band: the passing of Alec and the rough tour from past April, it sounds to me a bit like a goodbye.

I know that most likely the band will do something before wrapping it up, but that’s the impression this short gave to me.

What are your thoughts?

They likely hired someone or a team of someones to come up with regular content for their social networking sites. These shorts are done so they can be shared on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Tiktok simultaneously. It's all done to keep content flowing and has no bearing on the bands or Jon's future. The end might be nearer than we think, or it might still be far. Point is, whoever is in charge of their social media is not necessarily privy to inside info.....

Yeah whoever is doing it now is skewing much younger. The twitter vibe especially is completely different. But it took them 20 years to post on social media heavily about the past.

Bon Jovi is an iconic band that defined the music world for many years. People of all ages listen to their music because art unites people by providing the experience of joy and sending shivers down their spines. Even if the band retires, their music will live in people’s memories. When the band was first created in 1983, it was difficult to gain popularity worldwide because there was no internet. That’s why singers from the ‘70-‘90 are still popular because only the most talented artists can maintain their fame throughout the years. Nowadays, musicians can buy likes on Youtube or Instagram from pages like Famoid to increase their popularity.

If people think this will be the end, they don't know Jon and the band. We'll get some 40th anniversary information soon, and after that, there will be another album. Unless Jon has some very serious illness, the guy is going to carry on and I don't think they will throw in the towel and not release a new album.

I'm not sure that's really true anymore, not on a broad scale. I mean, I don't know anyone under 30 that listens to the band. I know that there will be some, maybe people that have picked the band up form their parents, but the majority of their fans are 40+ now.

This probably isn't entirely representative of the fan base as a whole because younger people tend to be on social media more often, but from what I know and see online there's still a pretty significant amount of fans in their 20s and 30s, I even see quite a bunch of teenagers in online fan spaces. Chances are some of them did pick the band up from their parents, but in the end they're still younger fans.

I don't think anyone is debating if there ARE younger fans, more-so that they aren't the prevalent part of the fanbase. The ones that are into them because of their parents....aren't really turning the wheel in hopes of new material, tours and releases. It's about the hits and the nostalgia.

That's based purely on how the last few releases have done and lack of much hooplah from that side of the fanbase. They're still horribly uncool other than the monster hits everyone knows.

You are a very wishful thinker and I wish you luck in this. But I just don't think so.

As a soon-to-not-be-a-teenager-anymore, I’ve discovered that a lot of young people actually listen to Bon Jovi. So much so a Russ (search it up if you don’t know what that is) group named themselves after a JBJ song (Blaze of Glory) and used Jon jumping in black as their logo. I can ask pretty much anyone at my uni if they know or listen to them and most will say yes or that they have listened to them before. But you got to ask as most won’t mention it otherwise, which is sad.

Anyway, have you guys seen JBJ’s story on Instagram? Just speculation, but maybe it’s about his voice and not wanting to end this way.. but that’s wishful thinking
