Default The Last Ever Show...

I've been thinking the past day or two about what would happen on the last ever show.

I'm sure we'd be informed before the actual show that it'd be the last ever. I don't think Jon would say after the encore 'thank you but that's all from us' so they'd surely have an idea in mind on how they'd go out.

Do you think that Jon would go all out on the last show playing rarity after rarity to please the diehards? Not saying get rid of Prayer, IML, Wanted etc... but give or take 25 songs, can you see Jon playing songs we'd all love to hear once?

Okay, he couldn't play every song we wanted obviously, but it'd be a great way to end the band by playing songs we would love to hear.

Or, would Jon just do the usual set. The hits and songs HE wants to sing?

I don't think a "last show ever" will ever be announced because none of them knows what's happening next. If Jon is sick of touring right now he's smart enough to know that his mind can change in 3 years. They can do one-off shows for festivals or stuff like that. So I don't see them calling it quits for good.
They will just go away for a while and either come back someday or not.

I think in an ideal World were Jon's voice is still strong and Richie hadn't walked out, we'd have got a 3hr epic. Rarities, special guests, solo songs. I think it would have been truly amazing.

In reality, I think a final show would be limited in it's length and song selection. I'm sure we might get thrown the odd bone but I don't think we'd get anything truly special. Jon just can't do it anymore. For all his effort, he's murdering songs up there. It's sad.

Also, assuming Richie hasn't already returned, is he invited to play with the band? Does he make a guest appearance? Maybe he brings Ori. It's all a bit weird. : )

It was certainly played like it was the last show...

Raise Your Hands
You Give Love a Bad Name
Born to Be My Baby
We Weren't Born to Follow
Lost Highway
It's My Life
Get Ready
In These Arms
We Got It Goin' On
Captain Crash & the Beauty Queen From Mars
Bad Medicine (with Gloria,Pretty Woman and Shout)
(It's Hard) Letting You Go
When We Were Beautiful
I'll Be There for You
Who Says You Can't Go Home
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead
Any Other Day
Have a Nice Day
Keep the Faith

Encore:

These Days
Wanted Dead or Alive
I Believe
This Ain't a Love Song
Livin' on a Prayer

Encore 2:

Always
I Love This Town
Twist and Shout (The Top Notes cover)

In fairness this tour was the last great one and some would say it would have been better to end on a high than ruin the legacy but that one is up for debate.

^ What a beautiful setlist! I would change it a little but overall, it's just awesome! Everything comes to an end one day and I think that, although it'd be more fair to the fans to announce the big day in advance, no rock group ever is going to do it! They will breathe their last when they die, even if it's going to happen on stage.

I was at that show - it was so incredibly special that I remember being slightly dissapointed that These Days opener the encore. Man, if I could go back and give that silly boy Erik a little slap across the face.
