What happened? Basically, Richie didn't show up.

Nothing happened between them. Richie got bored and moved on. It's like at any job, you work with a co-worker for a long time who was like a good friend and one day they decide to retire or leave the company. It happens.

Jon said Richie never contacted him or Tico or Dave. Richie says he reached out to Tico when he was recovering from his surgeries and asked if his mom needed help during one of the hurricanes that hit NJ. A couple of months after he left, he implied that negotiations were underway and that while it was too soon to make it to the Hyde Park concert, he might return in the fall. Rumors say that Jon's terms were unacceptable to Richie.

At this point it is moot to speculate or ponder. Bon Jovi is continuing and doing fine without him.

Richie got tired of looking at that tragic mullet. If only Jon had trimmed his hair during the break,...

Also he needed to get his ears checked because he couldn't understand the lyrics Jon was mumbling through his nose 90% of the time, there had to be something wrong with his hearing

Haha nice one But surely Richie's hair is much closer to being a "tragic mullet" than ol' Jonny's?

Symbeline obviously doesn't know what a mullet is. Jon has never had one. Billy Ray Cyrus...now, he had a mullet.

What happened was the guitarist flaked. Again. And he didn't even have the decency to give the band fair warning.

Agreed - the guitarist flaked. And even after all this time I don't think I have forgiven him for the way he did it.
