Default These Days....ohohoh

Damn, and let me first say I always try to write positive stuff on here, but -

Maybe all the people who say Jon has lost the voice are right. The chorus of These Days, he just didn't go close to the high notes, and without Richie it would have been more noticable. I have the Tokyo 1996 recording of These Days, and to say its different would be an understatement. The one we just heard, Jon was husky and dropping in and out on the higher notes he did attempt. It was still enjoybale, but its a shame he can't reproduce what he wrote in 1995.

Most songs are fine, he sounds pretty much the same as the mid 90s, but something like These Days brings out some question marks.

The crowd was very unenthused when the piano started on TD...I would have been going crazy. When you are there, all the crap Ive rambled on with above does not apply, its only if you are not there it may be noticable.

We said his voice strained on some songs!

But the begining of this song i wouldve gone mad as it is one of my faves live! I cried in 2001 when it came on!

I so have to agree with you. I mean it doesn't matter if he didn't hit the high notes just the fact that they played such a great song again made me shiver; I was screaming in my house But nonetheless it was great seeing them joke around, dance and do a little bit of strange pacing during the introductions-- not to mention that Jon unbuttoned his shirt This is such a great idea and well worth the wait.

Aloha !

About his voice : It was horrible
About being enjoyable : It wasn't.
About the crowd : They're still yankees.

Salaam Aleikum,
Sebastiaan

for me, it's all about that they actually played the song! I was the happiest i've ever been when i heard dave start - I was so happy when i heard dave start off - I was the happiest i've been in a hell of a long while - so happy in fact, that i had to try to force myself not to cry - which didn't work so well...I'm still so happy!

yeah because europeans are so much better... lay off and grow up instead of making fun of other people because you cant be one...
his voice is strained because of the amount of shows hes doing. you guys think that he will be fine after 100 or so shows but no, that takes a toll on your voice. I know after one cocnert, I cant talk. imagine Jon, you guys take it for granted, his voice is strained, hes at the end of the tour, give him a brake.

Ive just watched it back (I threw my mini dv on a tripod and recorded the 3 songs) and really......his voice was terrible on These Days. In the emotion of hearing it, you could easily miss that, but if you heard it back.....it sounds like you or me doing karaoke at a bar...it is that bad. That's why they don't do it often. How does Always sound these days compared to London 1995? Im sure its a bit different.

Ohhh...they don't know. Let's see, they are broadcasting BJ over the net, not the crowd. I would imagine that if the sound was focused on the band, the crowd would be faded in the background. I watched/listened to hear Jon sing, not the people at Alpine Valley. People make too much out of nothing just so they have something else to complain about.

Always sounded excellent when they did it in Jersey for the Bounce tour. I was actually quite surprised at how good it did sound.
