PLEASE READ: Current problems and the FUTURE of Jovitalk
PROBLEMS
First of all some info regarding current problems with posting and/or access to Jovitalk: - Posting problems appeared out of nowhere and my first attempts to solve them were not successful. I decided to leave it as it is till Tuesday (July 1st). They may simply disappear next week... - One possible cause of the posting problems and THE reason some people have problems accessing bonjovicentral.com in general is that all my sites are currently moving to a new server (again). The transition process is designed in a way that causes minimal downtime, but certain people using ISP with caching DNS servers might have problems accessing the site. The alternative is to use http://www-old.bonjovicentral.com/jovitalk and http://www-old.drycounty.com, but only till Tuesday (server move will be complete on Tuesday). FUTURE OF JOVITALK - I was very close to announcing a shutdown of the board as soon as the 2003 Tour comes to an end (due to funding problems), but surprisingly another alternative popped up. - So far I was unable to put and paid ads here (except pop-ups which I refused to put up here), but now Google launched it AdSense program and they don't have the usual "don't put ads to free email sites and message boards" restriction. These ads are content targeted (you'll mostly notice message board-related, BJ-related, music-related ads here) and paid per click (at variable rate). Each Google ad contains text links to two sites. - So here's the deal: I'm asking all JT regulars to CLICK on ONE GOOGLE AD PER DAY (not more as that could cause suspicion). That should be enough to ensure the survival of Jovitalk and also help introduce new services such as permanent JoviRadio. - How to recognize these ads: They contain 2 links (blue link + black text) on white background, and there is a blue portion at the bottom of the ad saying "Ads by Google".
