Default Was DVD announcment today because of fan disappointment???

I'm wondering, but could be wrong: Was the DVD announced today (since it seems like a premature announcement to me) since there was such a negative reaction to the 2 songs being omitted in the final press release from BJ.com?? The DVD announcment didn't seem very confident to me--seems like BJ.com tends to release info when they know more.

I look forward to this album, but with minimal promotion, Jon's statement that this is for the fans, and the short time frame to produce this, is it really just being put out to fulfill a contractual obligation to the record company?

Yes it is. Jon said in an interview that they told the record company to release the acoustic-album this year. After the recordings weren't really good he had to give them something else since they had promised to make an album.

So in the End, yes it is a fulfill of a contract.

I don't think they make the DVD because of complaints of the fans. It was planned anyway. I just wonder why they again announce something that early.I wonder how often plans will change this time.

I understand what your saying Chris but I just find it all a bit odd. Surely with the recording technology available they could have produced a quality live acoustic album? Besides it's a cleaner sound and a lot easier to mix than distorted guitars etc... I'm just a bit confused as to what the marketing strategy is behind all of this - my own opinion is that they are waiting to sell 100 million albums before putting out a box set which will have these so called "poor quality" acoustic songs on it as well as the new songs we were supposed to get on TLFR and then that will be the end of BJ. Call me the prophet of doom but to me it's all about this figure of 100 million albums - I'm sick of hearing about it. If they gave us a couple of decent albums instead of Crush and Bounce they would have hit 100 million 3 years ago and put us all out of our misery! IMHO Of course!

i thought crush was amazing, but that is just my two cents. and ive rather have somethign reworked like now, rather then acoustic, doing something like this also gives them huge possibilities live, to mix and match. it takes guts to comepletly transform yr best songs and give them to the ppl who loved the originals.

I'm sure that they were going to do the DVD anyway. I just think that bj.com made the post to tell the fans about it last night since so many people were upset about the 2 songs being dropped that they wanted to inject some good news into the mix.

I believe they monitor the main boards to guage the fans view.

If they monitord the main boards then they would have fully expected this uproar after all wasnt it here we had fans going mental cause ones upon a time jon said my instead of our on a radio show - Lets face it most of the fans are lame!. I dont care how its came around just glad it is and wonder if we will get other tracks as well cause a 12 song concert isnt somthing bon jovi do.

I think the DVD was already in the works. THey just announced it early so we would "bounce back" from our disappointment.

November 14th is only a month away... I hope I can go, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I couldn't agree with you more.
