I may not love the CD, although I will have to buy it to determine that. But is them trying something a bit different, something that they have never done before, all that bad? Everyone is knocking them for it, and this album may fall flat, but in the end change is what has kept them around. Otherwise they would have been thrown into the 80's wasteland along with Poison, Warrant and the Cinderella's of the world.

THESE BAND COULD BE NOT A SUPERSTAR IN THESE DAYS BUT THEY WERE AND THEY CONTINUE TO TOURING A LOT AND IN FRONT OF 5/6000 PEOPLE FOR VENUE.........THEY CONTINUE TO RELEASED ALBUM AND MAYBE NOT AS GOOD AS IN THE '80 BUT CERTAINLY THEY DESERVED MORE THAN THEY GET.........MUSICALLY OF COURSE I PREFER BON JOVI (THE GREATEST)BUT THOSE BAND ARE NOT SO INFERIOR THAN BON JOVI THEY HAD GREAT STUFF, BETTER THAN SOM JOVI' S CRAP.......JON 'S AND THE BAND LOOKIN IS THE ONLY THING THAT BRING 'EM ALIVE TILL IN THE 2000 AND I SAY THIS BECAUSE THERE'S NO REASON CINDERELLA POISON DEF LEPPARD ECC ECC AREN'T WERE JOVI ARE RIGHT NOW...........

Different is good, absolutely.... when you have new songs. This seems odd and still too much playing it safe. If they would´ve done a whole new album "with a twist".... that´d been great. However different these songs may sound it´s still the same songs, the same lyrics... so basically nothing new to get you enthusiastic.

Hard to explain... but them trying something different. That WOULD be great!

I appreciate a lot an evolution in their sound...I haven't heard the spoliers yet and I won't. I'm gonna wait for the entire CD.
Maybe they consider this record a kind of test for what they want to do in the future.
I think the reason why the Record Company cut off the two new songs is the high quality of this new record.
In my opinion they think "that's good enaugh to sell and doesn't need two new songs to put it high in the charts. Let's save the new songs for the Box set".

I'm not complaining at all about the fact they did something different, no, i find this idea really good and they seem so proud of their work, the thing i don't really like it's just the fact the new songs won't be on the cd
Even if it's hard/strange/surprising to hear our classic BJ songs sang differently, it's still their work, i don't know if i will love the new versions as i love the old, but any way, i think it's a good idea.

First of all, please turn off your caps. I have an opinion just like you so don't yell at me. Second of all, Cinderella and Poison aren't anywhere near where BJ are, and there is a reason.

They seem very happy and excited, so I imagine whether the CD sells or not, they'll be proud of it.

O', not knocking them for it. I'm quite happy with the snippets. Let's see what the album brings!!!

Actually you are not right!
it's obviouse you listened only to the 80s and early 90s stuff most of this bands did.

Just take Def leppard for example. X is more POP than BOUNCE. It's a huge change. Still - not even close to the success bounce had.
Same with Euphoria.

Motley Crue who wore probably the biggest in the mid-80s realeased a 2 GRUNGE albums in the 90s...nothing to do with their early stuff.

SKID ROW - develeoped a much harder sound in the early 90s and THICKSKIN is more alternative than hard rock.

WARRANT's Jani Lane is a Mohawk and plays PUNK influenced hard rock.

POISON's Hollyweird was just a poor attempt to their early stuff but you could really feel there was band called Nirvana that has remained in their ears.

I could go on and on.

It's not that this bands haven't changed so Mouse you are not right!But there is a reason they are less succesfull than Bon Jovi. They simply didn't manage to be good enaugh for the 90s and only those who were good enaugh survived. I mean with that Bon jovi and Guns N' Roses and maybe def leppard for the eaerly to mid 90s. Van halen was already over as Dave ledt. Skid Row was over as Sebitchian was fired and Poison or Cinderella just didn't have the musical strength to survive. Don't get me wrong. All this are some of my fave bands but it's like this and you have to face it.

And if you want to survive you need to adapt to the conditions but you do also need to be true with yourself and even if i don't like it, Bon jovi somehow managed to do that and even if they are seen more POP than Rock these days they are still one of the greatest bands out there!
