I don't think we've had a murder mystery in this forum before! So let's have one!
Remember, Hugh isn't really dead, this is just a game!
The Polling will remain open for as long as it takes to get a suitable amount of votes, and then I shall reveal the murderer!

"Tonight, The sold-Out Wolrd tour of Rock band Bon Jovi has been brought to a dramatic and trajic halt. All of the Stadium tour's remaining dates have all been cancelled, with little chance of being rescheduled in the near future. Hugh McDonald, the Band's Bassist, was found dead in his dressing room, backstage at a yesterday just before he and his bandmates were due to go on stage, by a traumatised David Bryan, the Band's keybordist.
A hasty announcement was made to the unknowing crowd that due to technical difficulties, the Band would not be able to perform. Security sealed off the dressingroom immediately, and police were at the scene within 10 minutes of the body being discovered. All four remaining Band members and staff employed both by the band and by the venue were questioned by the police. Eight people have been retained in custody for further questioning.
Our Heart-felt condolences go out to Hugh's Friends and Family. He was a divorcee of almost 1 year and is survived by no children. The Television Channel MTV has prepared a glowing tribute in honour of Hugh's life long work as a musician, not only with bon Jovi but also with Cher, Ringo Starr, Southside Johnnie, Alice Cooper and many more."

Results of Post Mortem

The Post Mortem found that Hugh McDonald had died of an acute form of poisoning, from the deadly substance Ricin. He had taken over 100 times the lethal dose. (Ricin is lethal to Humans in tiny ammounts. A small speck about the size of a pen nib can kill you in 24 hours. There is no cure. It is a bi-product of Castor oil, and relatively easy to get hold of, *if* you now how.)
Hugh took the Ricin into his body mixed with a glass of bourbon, which was found near him when he died.
It may be a small consolation to his family and friends to know that he would have died while unconcious, and felt no pain or even discomfort.
RIGHT!
AT the moment, all you have to go on to decide who killed Hugh is that CNN announcement and the results of the post mortem. HOWEVER! I urge you not to wate your vote on the poll yet, as there will be at least ANOTHER 2 CLUES That will be posted throughout this week. But you can get your thinking caps on now about motives and opportunities, and tell everyone your suspicions in posts.

JON BON JOVI DID IT!
Was Jon annoyed at the repeated protests, petitions and general determined behaviour of Hugh's cult fan bass to get him into the band? Did his infamously wild temper finally snap, and give him the incentive to finally silence their requests? Or had their been one of the famed arguments between Jon and a member of his organisation overstepping the mark? Jon is known for being a tyrranical Boss, but just how far would his temper carry him if his bassist got to big for his boots, and it was beyond the scope of Jon's power to do anything about it?
TICO TORRES DID IT!
"The Hitman" is just Tico's nickname...or is it? Tico and Hugh have had their disagreements in the past but has Tico now burried the Hatchet once and for all? Had Hugh seen something that he shouldn't have, and Tico's fear of discovery just became too much? Tico's reputation as a womaniser has gotten him into trouble on many occasion, but he has sworn new ways after recently remarrying. Hugh was known to have gotten on very well with Tico's new wife Alejandra, and would probably have turned his bandmate in if he saw reason to...
JOHN SMITH DID IT!
John Smith, a Security guard for the whole of the tour, and a long trusted employee of the Bon Jovi Machine. An Ex-nightclub bouncer and with a criminal record involving minor GBH charges, and has once been a suspect (though found to be innocent) in a murder case before. Is that just a risk of his job? He was the nearest guard to the door of Hugh's Dressingroom on the trajic night, and reported nothing to anyone. Was his the ideal position from which to get at Hugh? Was his complete lack of observation a clever ploy to cover up his random murderous attack?
OBIE OBRIEN DID IT!
Obie Obrien, the Band's long serving Sound technician(since John's years in the Powerstation, before the birth of Bon Jovi), with a criminal record . Was Obie Fed up with being cast further into shadow? He had begun to develop a small cult following as the most popular non Band-member in the Bon Jovi family, but since Alec John-Such's departure, Hugh has been the most popular member since the "These Days" tour. Obrien is known to have a slightly crazed streak at times, but would he go this far to settle a grudge?
RICHIE SAMBORA DID IT!
Was the Band's guitarist so fed up with the non-member Bassist getting more critical Kudos than himself? After all, he was depressed to the point of alcohol and perhaps even narcotics abuse when Jon Bon Jovi was taking all the critical credit, but has since sworn to "Deal with it in a different way". Just how differently does he deal with a Bassist who's work is more highly reguarded than his own?
HEATHER LOCKLEAR DID IT!
Heather Locklear, statuesque actress and wife of guitarist Sambora. When Heather Married Richie, she thought that Bon Jovi were more or less a spent ticket, and that Richie would have plenty of time for her, and then for their daughter, Ava. But when Bon Jovi made one of their famed comebacks, the touring became long term once again. Could the pressure of her Husband's prolonged absences from home have made her take drastic measures to end Bon Jovi for good?
ALEC JOHN SUCH DID IT!
The ex-bassist of the Band, Alec John Such, has had the most time of all the suspects to fester his anger. Hugh McDonald has been doing his job in the studio since the Slippery When Wet recordings, but Alec was finally dismissed in the aftermath of Crossroads, being told that his playing just wasn't up to the high standard the band demanded anymore. Around about the time of his unceremonious departure, Such said in magazines that he was never allowed to play on studio albums, and showed animosity to a then un-named replacement bassist...
HUGH McDONALD DID IT!
Hugh was tired of life, and having a rough time. This particular tour was prooving extremely stressful, and to what ends? He got no credit, bass players are usually seen as a lesser band member...BUT they wouldn't even let him be a Band member! A non-entity, a lowly session musician!And Despite throwing himself into his work, he had been unable to take his mind of his bitter divorce last year. Was it all just too much for him? Was it infact Suicide, and not Murder?
Assume all others have been eliminated from the investigation!

I apologise if there are any inaccuracies in this WORK OF FICTION but I do not have the time, resources or willpower to be looking into the precise mechanics of Ricin Poisoning, the structure of post mortems or the proceedures of CNN! It's all just a Cluedo-like game for us to enjoy!
