Default Maybe this is a weird question...
...but does bands/artists, such as Bon Jovi, need some kind of work permit to play in different countries?
I ask because I remember that Jon was going to be a guest DJ on a radio station in London once, and he wasn't allowed to because he didn't have a work permit.
So, are gigs work?

yep, they do in the US anyways.

they get a specific artist performance permit and if they aren't careful they may have to pay taxes too.

Alex James of Blur was told he could not play on their most recent tour of America. He was refused a work permit due to some criminal activity he did many moons ago.

I'm sure you'll be asking who the **** are they, they're quite big in England anyway...
