Default Springsteen, Bon Jovi Join Kerry Campaign

Another John Kerry rally....

http://<br /> http://kevxml2a.veriz...&feed=ap&top=1

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Rocker Bruce Springsteen is joining Sen. John Kerry in the final days of his bid to become the nation's boss.
Springsteen plans to play a song or two at campaign rallies Thursday in Madison, Wis., and Columbus, Ohio, both in battleground states likely to determine the winner of the election. He'll join Kerry in Cleveland the night before Election Day.

Springsteen's song "No Surrender" has been one of several played daily at Kerry's campaign stops.

Jon Bon Jovi, another rock musician supporting Kerry, played a few songs to open rallies Michigan and Wisconsin on Monday and expects to rejoin the Massachusetts Democrat later this week. As he leaped atop a stage in a hotel parking lot at a late-night rally in Green Bay, Wis., Bon Jovi said, "Surprise," to several hundred chilled Kerry supporters.

"Thanks for coming out tonight," he said. "Eight days from now, you get the microphone. The world's going to be listening."

I think it's a good thing that musicians are getting involved in politics. It'll encourage some younger voters to get involved.

That's true. I just hope that this really awakes the interest in politics and that these young voters don't vote the party just because their fav. musician/actor/whatever supports him. I'm not talking about Bruce and Jon but in generell. Every party has his supporters.

Once in my Modern Studies class, we were talking about politics and this girl said that the Americans shouldn't have voted in Bush cos his eyes are too close together, and according to her, that's a sign of not being honest. Whatever. There's one simple, sure-fire way to tell if a polititian is lying. Whether he opens his mouth or not

It would be one thing if this was a rally to encourage young people to vote in general, not telling them specifically who to vote for. If someone doesn't know enough about the issues to cast a vote, then don't bother voting. I wouldn't vote for a candidate just because bon jovi or springsteen told me to.

Jon has never said "vote for Kerry" He has always told people to go out and vote, he never says who to vote for. He is doing this to support HIS candidate and to let his voice be heard. He is also bringing younger voters into this and encouraging them to vote for a candidate.

If a person cannot think for themselves, then they should think twice about why they are voting for this person and get more informed about the issues. It they are clueless and are only voting for someone just because someone else is voting for this person, then they should not vote at all. Politics are a very serious issue and shouldn't be taken lightly, especially when we are voting for a leader of this country.
