It's one of my favorites. It does have that one cheesy line about hanging on a hangman's noose that kinda makes me cringe. The rest of the lyrics, the production and the overall feel of it I love though. It's become a catchphrase in my house - as in "What a rotten day I've had - Gimme somethin for the pain"

One of my favourates too. I love the sitar at the beginning, as it gives the song a unique feel. There are some great catchy riffs, and the two guitars blend well together. The lyrics are good and flow well. I also like the duet with Richie ("Help I'm falling, night is calling..."), as that is something different from most Bon Jovi songs too. I've tried to learn this song on guitar and I've got it sounding ok with one guitar, but it's mega mega hard, and a novice like me can't play it at full speed. It needs two guitars really.

Dyou reckon it's sincere or meant to be incredibly sarcastic? I think it works on two levels ... both as an anthem for someone who feels pain, and as an piss-take of grunge

I liked it at first, but I got over it. LOL It's one of the few weak spots of These Days IMO.

I think the song is pretty cool and as for the video clip, I thought it was pretty funny.

the piss-take on grunge - never thought at that but I think it's true. I mean Eddie Vedder and Courtney Love doubles appear in that videos...haha...that's actually right! It's a piss-take on grunge.

Well, I jsut listen to it once more now...

I always liked it btw!
