Default Who Says...may be used in NJ campagin

"WHAT EXIT?" STRATEGY: According to the New York Daily News, the New Jersey Economic Growth and Tourism Commission is deciding whether to pony up $175,000 to use Bon Jovi's "Who Says You Can't Go Home" as part of a new tourism campaign targeted at young folk. Should the already deeply discounted price be deemed too steep for the Garden State, they'll go with Plan B: Bon Jovi's lesser-known "Who Says It's All Landfills."

I read the idea was already scrapped. NJ is in financial ruin right about now.

What I don't get is, who do they need to pony $175,000 up to? Is it the band? Jeez - If anything, the band should be paying New Jersey to do it. It's great advertising.

According to past articles, the publishers and record label are the ones asking to get paid not Jon and Richie who said the state could use the song for free.
