Default Bon Jovi (the album)

I've always considered this one the band's forgotten masterpiece (even by Jon, I think...)

Songs like Runaway, She Don't Know Me, and Shot Through the Heart are as good as anything they've ever put out... I've always for some reason loved Come Back: one of my favorite Jovi songs.... Roulette beats or matches anything on 7800 degrees or Bounce. Not a weak song on the album.

Sure there's a weak song on it: Get Ready. It's actually a real good album with some great guitar work but is just lacks something IMO ... perhaps the songwriting is not quite up to later standards? It's tough to put in words why I prefer all the other 80s albums, just kinda do

Its a solid debut, but I don't think its dated too well - very much of its time with all those nasty synthesisers. Sambora really lets loose on a few tracks, especially Roulette, but I don't think the mix captures Jon's vocals that well....Runaway is by far the best track, and She Don't Know Me, holy God, one of the worst ever!!!....made even more excruciating by the video.

Get Ready is weak? I LOVE THAT SONG!!!!! If there is a weak song on this album, IMO it's Breakout, but I still like that song quite a bit.

My favorite Jovi CD till These Days. The worst track is better than the best track on 7800. Love it. Love it! LOVE IT!

I think it's a good album with some good guitar work. I songs are catchy and a bit cheesy though.

Good album but probably isnt remembered so well as it's not filled with "hits". The guitar work on there is probably the best they've ever done IMO. The production is fine (although I've only ever heard the remastered version), way better that Fahrenheit. Shame it's almost forgotten even by the band.

Oh yea and I like She Don't Know Me! (Even the video!!!)

7800' is far better than bon jovi. Tokyo Road alone can beat any song on the first album.

I like their self titled album, the writing is good enough and the album is great musically, all the songs are made to be played in an arena or stadium. The only song I don't like is Come Back although She Don't Me is pretty cheesy its got a great melody.
