Default Starting All Over Again

Anyone ever heard the original version of the song from the Japanese release of Keep The Faith?

Any clues as to why they put out a crappier version on the box set? Jon's voice sounds awful on it. Very strained and struggling.

I wish I knew. I cannot stand the remix and it's one of the few Jovi tracks I just won't listen to. The original version was just perfect. Blah.

Totally agree. Plus the solo is one of richies best on the old version, very Van halen-ish.

Jons vocals on the boxset one are terribley strained.. come to think of it, was this one of the songs that they actually redone the vocals for on the boxset? (god knows why theyd want to)

Blame Obie.

Question:
I was listening to "Starting All Over Again" from the boxset. It sounds very much different from the version included on the KTF Japan album. It sounds very unfinished and demoish on the boxset compaired to the polished sounding version on actual KTF album. Not complaining, just wondering if it is the demo of the track or just a different version. Thanks.

Answer:
I went back and found the ORIGINAL vocal that Jon sang off the floor while the band was doing the rhythm track. I thought it had so much cool and power to it that I ended up mixing it in a very raw version...

Is it just me, or at the end of the first chorus, instead of singing "Starting all over again", does Jon sing "Aarting (?) all over again"?

WTF is aarting?

I guess I'm in the minority here but I like Jon's raw vocal on the boxset version. It's not polished or fancy, that's why I like it. He just sat his butt down and belted it out.

No no, he would never be able to sing in such high key nowadays!
He wasn´t even back then, as you can hear ..
And I agree with you all (almost), the KTF-version is much much better.
Very bad decision Obie!
