To be honest, that was what his 'I'd Die For You' solos were like at every show. Not so much making a mess of it as being overly simplistic.

he made it look alto worst but never lifting his head and playing most of the solo with one finger

whoever thought jon should play a solo made a bad idea

I agree - when I heard that they were playing 'I'd Die For You' quite frequently on tour, I was really looking forward to it, partly because I think Richie's solo in it is awesome. How gutted was I when I heard the simple one string solo from Jon played in both Glasgow and Hull.

And I thought Bobby Bandiera was better than he showed on the tour or at least his reputation would suggest so. He was handed a couple of solos to let go on and, in my opinion, he didn't fair all that much better than Jon!

Just let Richie play 'em guys! It's what we all wanna hear! I understand about the whole, 'keeping it interesting for the other band members,' and all that but if the quality of the performance is gonna suffer because of it, you just wouldn't sacrifice it would you?

i think its more of not gettin the 'other band members involved' and more a case of lettin richie take it easy with his arm i mean he didnt use the most of his tremelo and pick slides like he has done in the past, whereas bandiera and jovi could, well im surprised jon played so shit becuase i seen him play rockin in the free world and his solo was equal to richies.

i think that next tour richie will be alot better and we will shed alot of wieight with the other bandmates

Itīs not equal with Richies but itīs better than the joke he pulled off in Iīd die for you. But actually, the solo Jon is playing in Free world is quite the same solo that he plays in August 7th 4:15. Same backing chords too of course. Maybe thatīs the only solo he can play ..
