I was just curious if any of you had a particular song or album that helped you get through some sort of ordeal in your life. For me it was without a doubt These Days. I had just moved to a new school for High School and was very lost as to who I was and was dealing with a new place where nothing seemed to work out for me. It was a very lonely and confusing time. I feel a sense of debt to the band as I don't know how i would have coped if i didn't have an escape with the music. I would like to hear other similar type of stories. Please no one reply with a generic answer like "all of the albums have helped me".

what if that was really the case.

anyways, the latest song I can identify with, that I just found new meaning in when I re-discovered it last month was The Radio saved my life tonight. When you grow up your whole life in a place that you can't really identify with anymore, and you don't really feel like you have found whatever it is you're supposed to be doing, that sentiment can be a little tricky.
But plenty of songs have helped me throughout my life, but I won't name them all now.

For me, it was Everyday. My mama was terminally ill and after she passed away this song helped me deal with my grief.

For me it was Something To Believe In. When I first heard it in '95, it was just like any other song; no special meaning. Couple of years later I started questioning everything and trusting nothing and no one; desperate not to become bitter and cynical, but not knowing how. The song helped me deal with the confusion that comes with it, and realizing that if traditional belief systems do not work for you, just develop one that does.

Someday I´ll be Saturday Night for me. My friend at work Sabine fellt sick with some strange disease. She tried to live or die for almost 8 months. I visited her many times. We spoke about her deeply wish to die, because of her pain. I couldn´t visit her for one week so I send her a letter. I wrote the refrain of SIBSN at the end. She died last year in July. She was a mother of four children. At the Bon Jovi concert in Amsterdam, I sat first row at the balcony. Jon sang the song alone with his guitar. So emotional. He didn´t know but sang it for my friend and me. I had to sit down and cried the hole song. Now the words mean a lot to me. I miss you, Biene.

I listened to Stranger In This Town (the album) a LOT when my grandfather died. It was pretty much constantly on repeat for a week or so surrounding that.

I got SITT around the same time as Lunar Eclipse...and ended up listening to SITT more, oddly enough.
