Default Jon HIGHEST vocal era..

I' M on the forum from just few months so maybe you already discuss this topic....
after hundreds of hearing i was surprise to realize that Jon's voice was better in THESE DAYS than any other era....at 33 his voice was highest more powerfull and of better quality than before...
it is not strange? i thought normally a voice shoulde be highest and better when you are younger (about 22/25) but for jon it isn't...
anyway in THESE DAYS i think he sings even better tha in SWW AND NEW JERSEY...GREAT!!!!!

His voice is strong in TD and KTF. IN KTF his voice is very powerful especilly in songs such as KTF, DC and IYWITA. But when i listen to Bounce (and Crush to a certain extent) i cant help but think he is really straining his voice, and it just dosnt sound right. Im talking bout songs such as 'I can save the world' , 'AALY' and 'Open all night.' It just sounds like he is whineing. I HATE the way he sings the line 'I gotta confess....' in 'I can save the world' He sounds like a boy band wannabe. I know he delivers the goods live everytime, but Crush and Bounce just arn't Rock and Roll.

I agree, I was listening to These Days last night and it is amazing how strong Jon's voice is. However, I think his voice is fine now too, just different.

During the NJ era, while he was touring, he really strained his voice. I would imagine it is because he was not singing properly and the rigorous touring schedule. Now, after taking vocal lessons, it does sound different. I think that this new way of singing helps save his voice for the touring that he has been doing. Live now, I think he sounds fantastic. Listening to some old bootlegs from the 80's/early 90's, Jon's voice was cracking and sounded shot at some shows. I saw him at Giants in 89, and was not disappointed, but listening to some other shows, he doesn't sound so hot.

It is not unlike what happened to Axl Rose, after touring non-stop for two years.
