Cool How Jon has changed his opinions over the years!

Quote Taken from Metal Hammer Interview Oct 1992:

Things are bad out there. People are suffering. Look at the choice Americans are being presented with: Bush or Clinton! The lesser of 2 evils. And Al Gore as Clinton’s running mate! Great. His wife Tipper is really my best friend in Rock ‘n’ Roll,“ he snorts sarcastically. ”Now she’s saying, ‘I was in a band once.‘ You know what Tipper? Blow me!“

Quote taken from a magazine interview in 1992:

Surely there are still plenty of die-hard Jon Bon fans out there?

I hope so but, unlike a lot of people we didn’t think about the marketplace while we were making the album. Right now there’s the Country thing, the Seattle thing, the rap thing, but we didn’t want to jump on anyone else’s bandwagon. I think that any artist that isn’t making a record for himself is playing another man’s game and will always, in my opinion, be a step behind. To just duplicate our previous success would have been suicidal.

Quote taken from a magazine interview in 1992.

hahaha....good ones...especially the first.
Tipper Gore was the initiator of the PMRC which wanted to ban heavy metal. Actually Bon Jovi were also on some of their lists. I remember that Homebound Train was criticize for bein "Satanic"

On the other hand I know that Jon started becoming closer to the demcrats and to Bill Clinton around 1993. There's this interview from 1994 where he says that Clinton is the biggest rock 'n' roll star in the workd blah blah...

What ever happened to those days? That idea lasted until... Well, until the band finally had another hit...

(cue me on the big screen) JBJ: "How good have you been? Oh My God!" (laughs, more teasing) JBJ: "You want it huh, you want it huh? Blood on Blood just for you, the good girl in the front row? The all request hour, the girl in the front row has just asked for Blood on Blood, ok, Merry Christmas young lady!" Amazing <3

Everytime I hear Jon saying about how they are always 'true to themsevles' etc and not 'jumping on any bandwagon', i cant help now but to think about WSYCGH and the upcoming country album...

oh, and the rehashing of past hits/lyrics/themes etc...

JBJ - I believe

"Sambora's face is a mask of joyous disbelief, as if previously unaware of his ability to play the instrument at all. Reaching the last fistful of notes, he does a fair impression of a man who is actually ejaculating into his jet black flares."

I have an audio interview from Jon around 1988/89 where he said, "I vote Republican..."

At the same time, I don't fault people for changing as they get older. I see the world differently than I did in 1992.

The most disappointing one for me personally...

After his performance in Young Guns II, Jon said that he enjoyed the experience but could never be an actor, that making films was more boring than videos, and he'd never want to do it. Unfortunately I don't have the direct quote, but he basically said music is his passion, and he doesn't have the patience to do films.

I remember around 1992, Jon was somewhat ridiculed that he changed his political "views" from republican to democrat. He responded to that by saying that he votes for the man, not the party. I personally don't give a hoot how he votes, and I'm sure most of us have changed our views on things as we grow up.

actually, political views are changing very very slowly. Even if a government is crap, one will vote again and again for the same party saying that it was just a mistake and they will probably do it better next time etc etc. Political views rarely change once they are formed(induced). Pretty much like Bon Jovi...we keep on buying the new records although they get worse and worse, hoping that THIS TIME they will have made a good one.
