A NYC radio station had an acoustic Christmas concert for charity. Bon Jovi were supposed to headline, but Green Day said they wouldn't play if they weren't allowed to headline. Bon Jovi said that was no problem, they'd go on ahead of Green Day. When Green Day came out, they supposedly started their show by singing "Wanted" making fun of Bon Jovi, but the crowd went with it. Half of the audience left after Bon Jovi finished. After the show, they got pissed off backstage and threw a fit.

I also read somewhere back then that there were personal problems between Billy Jo and Jon. Apparently the rumor stated that someone from Jon's entourage went to Billy Jo's room to ask (on behalf of Jon) if they could have some beer. Billy Jo was pissed that Jon didn't come ask himself, saying something about Jon thinking he was too big a star to do anything for himself.

Not sure how true this story was.

It doesn't sound very believable to me. I mean, Green Day can get beer and Bon Jovi can't? I don't think so. LOL At a gig like that, the radio station would be providing refreshments of equal calibur for all artists involved.

I wasn't aware of that story! Thanks for sharing... I find that rather childish of Billy Joe. He's such a diva.

I have a friend who attended the show so I know the part about them singing Wanted and the crowd going with it and that much of the audience walked out after Bon Jovi is true b/c of her telling me about the show. Jon talked about the hissy fit Billy Joe had (in his ever so diplomatic Jon could be a politician way) on MTV. I have a video clip where he was asked about it and he commented, basically laughed it off as no big deal.
